DocuSign Integration with Encompass Streamlines the Closing Process

Profit margins are tightening in the mortgage lending market, according to 69% of lenders. The refinance wave that lenders have enjoyed for the past two years is slowing as competition intensifies for new purchase business. In such an environment, it is critical for lenders to preserve their margins by lowering costs.

Fannie Mae has estimated that lenders can save as much as $1,100 per loan in loan production expenses by transitioning toward digital closings. Digital closings not only lower costs, they also offer customers a more convenient way to navigate a mortgage process that is often long and complicated.

However, implementing digital solutions is not always easy and lenders often encounter frustration managing multiple disconnected systems.

With the new DocuSign Rooms for Mortgage integration with Encompass by ICE Mortgage Technology™, lenders can bridge the gap between document generation and execution, creating a unified experience for all parties in the closing process. Rooms for Mortgage offers lenders a secure digital workspace to assemble, preview and sign closing packages while Encompass supports lenders in accelerating loan origination with its end-to-end loan origination system.

Lenders can prepare and finalize closing packages all within the Rooms platform. Here’s how it works:

  1. Find and access Encompass loans via dropdown in Rooms
  2. Securely import closing documents and other relevant loan documents into Rooms
  3. Split, edit and combine closing packages to send to borrowers for eSignature, leveraging prebuilt templates to automatically tag forms
  4. Close the loop by pushing completed documents back to Encompass

The result is an easier and more efficient experience for lenders, title agents and notaries public that preserves data security as documents move across platforms and collaborators.
