DocuSign Developer: Deep Dive Discussions – ID Verification
In this episode, we’re sitting down with Josh Wise, Senior Engineering Manager, to talk about identifying and authenticating users using DocuSign products, with a special focus on DocuSign ID Verification (IDV). Developers can use this feature today to enforce an identification check for envelope recipients using our eSignature REST API v2.1.
At a high level, DocuSign Identify refers to the entire family of identity and authentication products. Think of it as a product family—an organizing term for all our offerings to solve the business problem of automated identification.
Examples of products under this umbrella are SMS, phone or knowledge-based authentication (KBA), ID check for QES, third-party partner ID methods, and our new DocuSign ID Verification product.
To enable our developer customers to create their own DocuSign authentication solutions, we created a platform to expose this product family, called the DocuSign Identity Platform, which refers to the set of open APIs and workflows on which we build or connect different identity methods.
