Remote Online Notarization Across State Lines
The challenge of finding and meeting with a notary when it’s required to witness the signing of official documents has been alleviated with Remote Online Notarization (RON) laws. Today, more than half of US states have adopted permanent RON laws and most of the remaining states have approved RON by executive or emergency order.
RON eliminates the need to physically appear before a notary to witness signings associated with real estate, family law, corporate and other matters. Digital technologies, like electronic signatures and secure, remote video capture, have replaced traditional in-person notarizations.
In this paper, discover:
- How RON complies with state notarization laws
- Steps to take when relying on Remote Online Notarization
- Acceptance of RON law even in states without official adoption
