Our Engineering & Tech Operations team builds and operates complex solutions for global business challenges that cross cultures, legal jurisdictions, and impacts millions of people and businesses every day. This position
We’re looking for a self-motivated, hands-on Engineering manager, who will be leading a best-in-class engineering team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about building React components, performance optimization, and scalable Node server architecture. You will do this while working with a team of passionate people, who care about building scalable front-ends and delivering the best solutions to our customers. The desired candidate will be a well-rounded developer, who is not afraid to jump into any level of the stack and has proven experience in web development, a flexible attitude and aptitude to learn and share. This person enjoys working in a fast-paced agile environment, cares about their decisions, and is focused on quality driven development.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Director, Engineering and is designated Flex.

Responsibilities

• Help define the vision and roadmap for DocuSign’s front-end application and Node Server
• Lead a team of junior, senior, and lead engineers
• Work with other project teams to identify dependencies and build shared code
• Work with critical front-end server platform systems including oAuth, APIs, and session management
• Collaborate with the UX organization and participate in design reviews
• Own and deliver accurate effort estimations for each release cycle
• Work as part of a development team in the design, implementation, testing and release of new solutions
• Lead team to architect and build high-quality, ship-ready code with unit tests

Basic qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5 years of engineering management experience
• 8+ total years industry experience in Software Engineering
• 5+ years of experience developing JavaScript applications, with focus on performance and scalability

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building scalable and performant React based applications
• Experience with Node.js
• Appreciation for good designs and the ability to work well with user experience teams
• Experience with Git, continuous integration and deployment tools
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Curiosity and ability to learn new technologies and tool sets
