This position
DocuSign is looking for a seasoned hands-on software engineering director (SED) to join our Information fabric team that is focused on building next generation information platforms that are highly scalable, available and reliable distributed systems. The Information Fabric team at DocuSign ensures critical back-end services scale with the company’s continued rapid growth. Our storage systems handle billions of transactions daily with tens of thousands of transactions per second with single digit millisecond average response times. The Information fabric team at DocuSign tackles complex challenges as we scale the service for our next 10X growth. This position is a people manager reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, Information Fabric and is designated Remote.
Responsibilities
- Monitor performance of individual contributors and help manage their professional development
- Manage, analyze and approve product design and changes
- Design core, back-end software components
- Manage code solutions to challenging technical problems
- Conduct design and code reviews
- Manage, analyze and improve efficiency, reliability and scalability of core services
Basic qualifications
- BS in computer science, electrical engineering or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience managing 10 or more software engineers
- 12+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Experience in building large-scale, highly available distributed systems
- Experience in migrating systems from on premise to cloud
- Experience with large scale data migration
Preferred qualifications
- Willingness to code due to highly technical nature of the position
- Proficiency working with algorithms, data structures and production troubleshooting
- Familiarity with MS Stack (C#, SQL, CosmosDB, Azure Blob, mySQL, Postgres)
- Experience with Information retrieval, Big data, AI/ML, Knowledge Graphs, database system internals and networking
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills and demonstrated technical leadership ability
