This position
The Head of Developer Relations will play a critical role in building out the developer and partner ecosystem programs and community at DocuSign. This leader will head up strategy and programs to recruit, inspire and enable developers and partners to solve big problems by building integrations with the DocuSign Agreement Cloud platform.

We’re looking for a leader who can win the hearts and minds of developer and ISV communities by delivering value through innovative programs, events, hackathons, developer tools, and technical thought leadership that supports our expanding portfolio of products and international growth. You must be a deeply technical storyteller who enjoys connecting with other technical practitioners and influencers and helping them elevate their craft.

The Technical Advocacy and Adoption, within the Engineering organization, is tasked with creating a world-class developer and partner ecosystem experience and a thriving, engaged community for the DocuSign Agreement Cloud.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Vice President of Technical Advocacy and Adoption and is designated Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a set of strategic dev rel programs and promote channels for the community to engage, try our products, and provide feedback all while building a following of raving fans
  • Develop content in the form of technical tutorials, blog posts, videos, demos for trade shows and developer conferences, assets for social media programs and other deliverables that raise awareness of the DocuSign Agreement Cloud offerings
  • Build with and for our technical audiences: create developer tools, proof-of-concept prototypes, try out new ideas or stitch together end-to-end solutions and share them with our community of builders
  • Engage with our developer and ISV partner community on Stackoverflow, GitHub and community forums. Lead a voice of the customer program to ensure we bring feedback from technical customers back into our product roadmap
  • Represent DocuSign at industry exhibitions, in person and online by presenting at conferences, first party meetups, hackathons, webinars, annual developer conference, advisory boards, and other bespoke events
  • Lead as a player-coach as you build out a team of developer evangelists/ advocates

Basic qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a direct, hands-on technical community or end-user focused role such as developer relations, developer advocacy and technical support
  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer or engineer
  • Proven experience guiding and growing a technical community where you were a key factor in driving measurable positive outcomes
  • Experience speaking at technology conferences, blogging and writing technical articles, and contributing to popular open-source projects on GitHub
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% post-pandemic

Preferred qualifications

  • An established presence online as a thinker & leader in this space is preferred but not required (you will do this as part of this job!)
  • Have a strong vision for where the industry is going, and stay on top of new technologies and stacks
  • Deep familiarity building developer portals and roadmap activity
  • Excellent communication skills as both a strong technical writer and a dynamic public speaker

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for Colorado individuals only: Colorado base salary range: $150,300 - $186,700 and eligible for bonus, equity and benefits.
