Our Engineering & Tech Operations team builds and operates complex solutions for global business challenges that cross cultures, legal jurisdictions, and impacts millions of people and businesses every day. This position
DocuSign is seeking a talented and results oriented Data Analytics Engineer to focus on delivering trusted data to the business. As a member of the Analytics Team, the Data Analytics Engineer leverages a variety of technologies to load, transform, and prepare data sets of all shapes and sizes for teams around the world. During a typical day, the Data Analytics Engineer will spend time analyzing data, providing insights, developing solutions with ETL tools, and loading tested data sets into the Snowflake Enterprise Data Warehouse. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude, a passion for learning and growing, and the drive to work hard and get the job done in a timely fashion. This Individual Contributor position provides plenty of room to grow -- a mix of challenging assignments, a chance to work with a world-class team, and the opportunity to use innovative technologies such as AWS, Snowflake, and Data Lake tools.

The Technical Evangelism and Information team within Engineering & Tech Operations, is tasked with creating a best-in-class developer, partner, and admin experience and a thriving, engaged community for the DocuSign Agreement Cloud -- helping technical audiences worldwide create, connect, and automate how organizations prepare, sign, act on, and manage agreements. We also create world-class content and data-driven solutions that communicate the value of DocuSign’s Agreement Cloud platform and APIs to developers and technical decision makers and help them understand the potential impact DocuSign can have on their business. This group’s focus extends from data stewardship, data instrumentation, QA, data visualization, providing analysis and creating automated dashboards.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager of Analytics and is designated Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and define requirements for data projects
  • Analyze source system APIs, data schema, and data profiles to define what is possible
  • Define and document solution designs, with feedback from team members and technical architects
  • Develop and own ETL data pipeline and data model solutions for integrating new data sets into Snowflake
  • Own, monitor, and improve automated solutions to ensure quality and performance objectives are met
  • Create data tools for analytics team members that assist them in building and optimizing our service or product
  • Execute projects using Agile Scrum methodologies
  • Identify recurring issues or “value-add” areas and proposes process, data, and/or systematic solutions
  • Interface with analytics teams to validate test results for new applications verifying that they meet the requirements of the business group
  • Define KPIs, build reports and dashboards to deliver business insights and ensure consistency, reliability and quality of all standard reports
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams across the organization

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 5+ years’ experience in data warehouse engineering (OLAP) Snowflake, Teradata, Redshift
  • 5+ years’ experience with transactional databases (OLTP) Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL
  • 5+ years of experience with one or more commercial ETL tools – AWS, Matillion, Airflow, Talend, Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica
  • 5+ years delivering ETL solutions from source systems: databases, APIs, flat-files, XML, JSON
  • 5+ years data modeling and building dimensional schemas
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Strong developing code in one of the following languages: python or java, powershell
  • Advanced SQL knowledge and experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • Proven track record developing Entity Relationship Diagrams
  • Good working with job scheduling and monitoring systems
  • Expert building BI Dashboards with tools like Tableau
  • Expert managing work assignments using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
