This position
As a Software Engineer on the DevOps team, you will help build and enhance DevOps capabilities at DocuSign. Our team’s charter is to reduce the friction involved in going from idea to reliable feature. As a Lead DevOps engineer you will be responsible for migrating infrastructure into the cloud, integrating various development tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes), and driving the continuous improvement of our tooling and practices. You will be working in a small, focused scrum team obsessed with reducing waste, increasing visibility, and increasing DocuSign’s ability to release quality software.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to Senior Manager, DevOps Engineering and is designated Flex.
Responsibilities
- Drive our migration of infrastructure (Kubernetes, VMs, serverless components) into Azure
- Co-own the selection and implementation of 3rd party systems acquired for development as well as design and development of extensions to those 3rd party systems
- Install, maintain and extend both commercial and open source software packages
- Collect requirements, document and present designs and architectures for extensions and ancillary tools to those systems
- Develop advanced scripting modules for manipulating infrastructure, reduce the complexity for admin scripts while increasing quality and reliability
- Enhance our monitoring, problem-solving and issue resolution of infrastructure components
- Monitor for system alerts and provide hands on resolution of incidents
- Evaluate, improve, and automate infrastructure components
Basic qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience
- 12+ years industry experience
- Experienced with cloud-based services and infrastructure such as Azure/AWS/GCP etc. Azure preferred
- 6+ years development experience in a scripting or compiled language such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PowerShell, Go, C#, etc.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows systems
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows web servers
- Experience in working in an agile development environment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with configuration management technologies (Chef, Puppet, Ansible…)
- Experience with Virtual and Container technologies (Docker, OpenStack, Kubernetes …)
- Experience with Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tooling
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Curiosity and ability to learn new technologies and tool sets
