This position
DocuSign is looking for a highly motivated Senior Manager, UI Engineering, to join our Digital Experience team under the Marketing vertical. The Senior Manager, UI Engineering, will lead a high-performing team of Frontend Engineers and be responsible for worldwide eCommerce UI Engineering.

This position is a people manager role reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering and is designed Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for building high-quality, user-focused eCommerce experiences with React/Node
  • Have a passion for continuous improvement
  • Be an example to your team
  • Be responsible for delivering products that delight customers while managing the health of the code base through continuous refactoring and management of technical debt
  • Dive deep into technology and are on the forefront of the latest tools, technologies, and strategies and help evaluate, prototype, and introduce them to our team
  • Be an expert at agile continuous delivery, DevOps and TDD/BDD and will champion the culture, processes, and tools required to maintain a frictionless high quality development environment
  • Provide coaching and leadership in software best practices, automated test strategies, and work toward flattening the cost of change curve for our software products and services
  • Have a demonstrated track record of building high performing, secure applications and building security into the DNA of products
  • Obsess over great user experiences and will be a partner to product management/engineering, sales, operations, and other parts of the business
  • Lead a team of engineers at various stages of their career, actively investing in their growth and development
  • Cultivate an open, collaborative, and fun work environment for yourself and your team
  • Work closely with product, design, security, customer success and other teams to provide technical expertise throughout all phases of product development
  • Set team strategy and be accountable for team plans and deliverables

Basic qualifications

  • 8+ years of combined software development and management experience across multiple frontend technologies and frameworks
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team of engineers and participating in the entire employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, performance management and employee development
  • Experience in building single-page applications
  • Experience in React/Node using TypeScript
  • Experience working with CSS
  • Experience working with cross-browser behaviors and quirks
  • Experience of creating accessible web apps
  • Working knowledge of user authentication and authorization
  • BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Passion for learning and working with new technologies
  • Strong understanding of design
  • Product development experience building large scale web applications
  • Experience designing and developing highly scalable consumer-facing web applications
  • Care deeply about writing high-performance, reusable code for components that will be used across our product
  • Passionate about creating an inclusive and accessible user experience
  • Familiarity with SaaS eCommerce and multichannel web marketing
  • Experience with internationalization and localization
  • Experience with server-side technologies like Node.js
  • Experience working with Headless CMS
