This position
In this role, you will be a leader on our QA Automation team working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to continually advance and improve our QA automation platform. You will be responsible for ensuring quality of the services, APIs, and UI for mission critical customer collaboration workflows at DocuSign. You will be working with extremely passionate people who care about their customers and want to deliver solutions that improve customer productivity for complex workflows. The right candidate has a tenacious and curious nature, knows how to work in a fast-paced agile environment, and has an aptitude to learn and share.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager - Notary/Collaboration and is designated Flex.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop and maintain a modern, multi-faceted test automation platform to support high quality, rapid delivery of product enhancements and bug fixes
  • Design and implement automated tests for virtual collaboration platform features, including front-end GUI tests and backend REST API tests
  • Build, maintain, and enhance tools and processes throughout the CI/CD pipeline to improve QA efficiency and seamless integration of automation testing into the product development lifecycle
  • Partner with development, product management and customer success teams to provide insight into testability, user experience, and product quality across the platform
  • Identify incomplete or unclear feature definitions and customer workflows then work with stakeholders to address them
  • Mentor other QA automation engineers on test automation best practices and development
  • Be a focused, results-oriented team member capable of working independently as well as across multiple functional teams

Basic qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related engineering field, or comparable industry experience within a software organization
  • 8+ years of working alongside a software engineering team doing test automation
  • Recent experience as a technical lead on a software test automation team
  • 3+ years programming in an industry standard language (Python, JavaScript, Ruby, etc.)
  • Experience monitoring test results and maintaining tests in a fast-paced environment with frequent product releases
  • Experience working on multiple projects and features in tandem, writing test plans and test cases for assigned features
  • Experience utilizing various technologies and libraries (Selenium, Appium, REST, etc) to test web based SaaS applications on browsers, mobile devices, and the backend
  • Experience testing APIs and/or SDKs

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience writing tests with Robot Framework and Python
  • Knowledge of how to communicate quality metrics during a release cycle
  • Experience with the development of continuous integration/continuous delivery systems
  • Experience using data and metrics to drive decisions
  • Experience providing direction and supervision to more junior team members
  • A passion for testing, design, and finding innovative solutions to problems
  • Willingness to assist other team members through brainstorming, mentorship and knowledge-sharing
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with other engineers and cross functional team members
